American College Cricket is pleased to announce that the Inaugural
American College Cricket Spring Break Championship will be held at the
Central Broward Regional Park in Lauderhill on March 20-22, 2009.
Five University will compete for the prestigious Shivnarine Chanderpaul
Championship Trophy that will be awarded to the winning Team. According
to the organizers Chanderpaul, the 2008 ICC and the Windies Cricket
player of the year, has endorsed and fully supports the Championship.
The University of Miami, Boston University, Montgomery College,
Carnegie Melon University and the University of South Florida are
scheduled to participate in the Championship.

The Caribbean American Soccer Association (CASA) Super League was back
in full swing last Saturday after taking a break to accommodate the
visit of the Young Reggae Boyz with two games at the Lauderhill Sports
Complex.
In the first game Unity FC managed to take sole position of first place
in the point standings despite suffering a 1-0 defeat at the hands of
BC United who now holds down the number three spot.

As the American College Cricket Spring Break Championship draws near,
Bedessee Sporting Goods, one of the biggest supplier of Cricket gear in
the United States, has agreed to provide cricket gear to the
participating College Cricket Clubs that will compete in the
Championship.
Chubb and Ravi Bedessee, owners of Bedessee Sporting Goods, have
expressed support for the Championship. “We will provide the necessary
equipment that the student athletes need such as helmets, batting
gloves, wicket keeper gloves, batting pads and balls. It will be
wonderful to see these young American College Cricketers display their
skills during the competition” stated Chubb Bedessee.
Bedessee Sporting Goods is headquartered in New York City. It is
opening a retail facility near the Cricket Stadium in Lauderhill,
Florida.

KINGSTON, Jamaica, CMC – Jamaica’s Olympic triple gold medallist Usain
Bolt clocked a season's best and world leading 45.54 seconds in winning
the men’s 400 metres at the University of West Indies (UWI)
Invitational meet at the National Stadium on Saturday night.
The effort bettered by 0.81 seconds his previous season's best of 46.35
seconds at the Camperdown Classic the previous weekend, and topped
Australian Sean Wroe's 45.70 as the quickest in the world so far this
year.
Bolt, the 2008 IAAF Male Athlete of Year, is in early season
preparation for the 2009 international campaign in which he will target
a repeat of his Beijing sprint double triumph at the IAAF World
Championship in Berlin, Germany this summer.
