In a hard fought match which was decided in the final over, Guyana 124 beat India 123 by two wickets. Winning the toss and electing to bat first, India put 123 runs on the board. Sandeep Desai 40 and Vaibhav Nayar 30 were the leading batsmen. The rest of the batting order was shut down by the strong Guyana bowlers, notably Avinash Rampersaud 2 for 21 off 4 overs, Hasrat Amin 2 for 18 off 4 overs and Masoos Mohamed 1for 8 off 2 overs. In reply, Guyana displayed a balanced attack paced by Andrew Permal 22, Kiame Mohamed 12, Capt. Masood Mohamed 12, Fizal Sheriff 11 and Riad Mohamed 11. The leading bowlers for India were Pranay Tigga 2 for 17 off 4 overs, Vaibhav Nayar 2 for 10 off 4 overs and Sandeep Desai 2 for 2 off 1 over. The second Match of the evening was a lopsided one as Sri Lanka 167 easily disposed of Trinidad & Tobago 105 by 62 runs. Opting to bat first after winning the toss, Sri Lanka wasted no time running up the score as Ken Singh 59 including 7 sixes and Sayed Hassan 33 punished the T&T bowlers. Manish Patel chipped in with 16 runs. The only effective bowlers for Trinidad were Timothy Suriybally 2 for 29 off 4 overs and Tazmool Hosein 2 for 30 off 4 overs. Chasing 167 runs for a victory, the T&T batsmen were kept at bay by a trio of Sri Lanka bowlers. Sayed Hassan 3 for 17 off 4 overs, Viswa Vishvanath 2 for 21 off 4 overs and Naveed Ahamed 2 for 25 off 3 overs. Luther Anderson (34) and Asad Abrashid (23) were the leading batsmen for Trinidad.
