Dolphins’ amazing season ends PDF Print E-mail
Sunday, 11 January 2009 10:45
The Dolphins season ended last Sunday, when they were defeated 27-9 by the Baltimore Ravens in their first playoff game since 2002. The Dolphins finished the season with an impressive 11-6 record. Few people expected them, a team comprised mainly of rookies, with a rookie coach to win more than 8 games, after the 1-15 season the year before. Although the team lost this playoff game, very few Dolfans can say the season was a disappointing one.

Sure, some fans are disappointed at Sunday’s loss in a game which I think the Dolphins could have won. But, bad luck ruled and the Dolphins who tied the New York Giants with the lowest turnovers (13) this season, had a whopping five turnovers, and quarterback Chad Pennington who had a super year and won the award of “NFL Come-back Player of the year” for leading the Dolphins to win the AFC East title had his worse game, throwing four interceptions. However, despite Chad’s poor play on Sunday, I think those fair-weather fans who claimed that Pennington should have been benched after he threw the first three interceptions, are plain stupid. How could Pennington have been pulled during a play-off game where the team had a chance of winning up to 10 minutes before the game ended?
