The most likey first round matchup in the Eastern Conference will see the number one seed Chicago Bulls going against the number eight seed Philadelphia 76ers, the number two seed Miami Heat against the number seven seed New York Knicks, the number three seed Indiana Pacers playing the number six seed Orlando Magic and the number four seed Boston Celtics going against number five seed Atlanta Hawks. The most likely first round matchup in the Western Conference will see the number one seed San Antonio Spurs playing the number eight seed Utah Jazz, the number two seed Oklahoma City Thunder againt the number seven seed and defending NBA and Western Conference Champions Dallas Mavericks, the number three seed L.A Lakers going against the number six seed Denver Nuggets and the number four seed L.A. Clippers against the number five seed Memphis Grizzlies. Note that the teams with home court advantage are named first and it will be a seven games series. If all goes as predicted, there are four first round games that fans are eagerly awaiting, two in each conference. In the Eastern Conference, it is LeBron James-led Miami Heat going up against the resurging New York Knicks, led by Carmelo Anthony and Rajon Rondo- led Boston Celtics facing off against Joe Johnson's Atlanta Hawks. While in the Western Conference it is Kevin Durant's Oklahoma City Thunder looking to defeat the defending champs Dallas Mavericks led by Dirk Nowitzki and L.A. Clippers with Chris Paul and Blake Griffin trying to stop Memphis's Rudy Gay and Zach Randolph. For our Miami Heat the quest for a championship is on. We almost made it last year but fell short. Despite the obvious short- falls of the team and my criticism of the coaching staff I still feel that talent-wise, we can sweep all teams in front of us. It will not be easy and the fans will definitely need to support the team and remember we are all in this thing together.

The playoff spots in both the Eastern and Western Conferences have been decided and the regular season is coming to an end. With only a few days away from the playoffs, for all the teams left standing the regular season is unimportant; now it is time to win or go home.
