dwayne wadeThe Miami Heat has lit up the court, winning three games and scoring above 100 points for their two opening games. The Heat defeated defending champions Dallas Mavericks 105-94 on Christmas day, Boston Celtics at home 115-107, on December 27 and the Charlotte Bobcats 96-95 on Wednesday. The team so far has thrown down the gauntlet, signaling their championship intentions for 2012.

What has been most impressive is that the Heat has stepped up the pace of their game. In Norris Cole, the Heat has acquired a young rookie from Cleveland State, who seems to possess the qualities of a top class point guard in the league. Cole has top-notch ball handling skills, shooting ability and the confidence of a player beyond his years. He is also the first Heat rookie to record a 20-point game off the bench, since Michael Beasley scored 25 vs. New Orleans in 2009. Cole, along with starting point guard Mario Chalmers, will not only take away the pressure faced by the Heat's Big Three, but also build the needed floor and team balance that can ultimately bring Miami's second NBA title home.
