Carlos Arroyo has finalized his deal to return to the Miami Heat, bringing the roster to 13 as Pat Riley continues maybe his biggest summer of wheeling and dealing to fulfill the expectation of Miami ‘Wade’ County which is nothing short of a championship and by exclamation - NOW !

With the signing of Arroyo, the Heat roster is now taking shape with a mixture of youth and veterans. Currently at guards/wingers are Arroyo, Dwayne Wade, Le Bron James, Mike Miller, Mario Chalmers and James Jones, while up front they feature this week’s acquisition Juwan Howard, Chris Bosh, Udonis Haslem, Joel Anthony, Jamaal Magloire, Zydrunas Ilgauskas and their rookie Dexter Pittman.

Which brings up the million dollar question; is this good enough to get the job done? They certainly have size, experience, youth, shooters, shot blockers, playmakers, and to boot, super-stars.

Which brings us to our next question; what more could they possibly need? Oh that’s right – chemistry. Yes this may not be the best crop of supporting cast surrounding Wade, James and Bosh money can buy, but it certainly maybe just what the Heat can afford right now.

So it will all come down to how well this baker’s dozen gel. Will they all share the common purpose, keep their eyes on the prize, yes and above all be willing to sacrifice for the betterment of the team – you know – the hallmark of true champions.

Sure, the questions will linger until next spring, but one thing is sure, the heat is on with the high expectation surrounding this team; it will not end with the summer, and not even a bone chilling winter like we had last year will temper the expectations of winning NOW.

This takes us to another key piece of the puzzle, one Eric Spoelstra, who no doubt will bear the brunt of the ‘heat’. He will be the man at the helm, the man to make the other pieces fit, the man to satisfy the egos, the man to draw up the final play – deciding who gets the ball and the list goes on.

His job description is very short – WIN NOW or face the “heat!” Did I hear Pat Riley?
