Miami Heat fans are looking toward the Heat's Eastern Championship finals with the Indiana Pacers, anticipating the Heat will win the East for the third consecutive year. However, very few expect the series will be easy, and wouldn't be surprised if it takes the Heat all seven games to win. One of the main reasons why some Heat fans think the Pacers will not be a push over, is that during the regular season the Pacers bested the Heat two games to one, and in last year's playoffs, pretty much the same Pacers team gave the Heat a good run, although Miami won that series in six games. The Pacers match-up well with the Heat because most of their key players are bigger and taller than the Heat. Their center Roy Hibbert has the edge in height over Miami's Chris Bosh. However, if Bosh can maintain his excellent rebounding that he did in the Chicago series, he could nullify Hibbert's potential. In addition, Chris "Birdman" Andersen has strengthened the Heat at center. Power forward David West, could be Indiana's best player, especially in the post position. He has the made the defense on many teams weary. He could be hard to defend, and it's left to see which Heat player will best stay on him during the series. Other impressive Pacers include Paul George (small forward); Lance Stephenson (shooting guard) who will bring his impressive athleticism against a less than fit Dwyane Wade; and George Hill (point guard). It will be a good match-up between Hill and the Heat's Mario Chalmer's, but one never know which Chalmers will turn up. However, it is the Heat bench that will see Miami winning this series in six of seven games. The bench consisting of Ray Allen, Norris Cole, Mike Miller, Rashard Lewis, Shane Battier and Andersen is one of the best in the NBA, and deeper and better than Indiana's. In these playoffs, Miami has yet to play its best basketball, including the game of MVP LeBron James. The Heat has a lot of championship style basketball left, that's why we predict the Heat will again win in six.

Three Florida teams' presence in the NCAA Tournament's Sweet Sixteen round and the Miami Heat 27-game winning streak were more than enough to make Floridians from across the state proud.
However, much to the disappointment of Florida colleges fan base which had quadrupled over the past month, their fairytale endings were dashed in three heart-wrenching losses.
University of Miami (UM) - One night after the Heat, the Hurricanes were ousted by Marquette. The final score was 71-61.
Florida Gulf Course University (FGCU) – In a clash of two Florida schools, University of Florida (Gators) showed the high flying Eagles and the rest of the nation that the "strong survives." They beat the Ft. Myers team 62- 50 to move on to the Elite Eight. University of Florida – The Gators, the last Florida team standing, suffered major man-handling from the bright-yellow clad Michigan Wolverines. In the first few minutes of the game Michigan had a 13-0 run, a clear indication how the game would end; a 79-59 drubbing – the kind Gator fans was used to giving not receiving. |

The Miami Hurricanes basketball team have lived up to the promise it showed during the regular nationwide (NCAA) college basketball season, and has made it to the NCAA tournament (playoffs) known as March Madness for the first time in several years.
On Sunday the Hurricanes made history by winning the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) defeating North Carolina 87-77. However instead of making the NCAA Tournament in the coveted number 1 position in the East they were placed in the number 2 slot when the brackets were announced Sunday evening.
This was a surprise as in the past the team that won the ACC usually is given a regional number 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament. However, it's assumed Miami landed the number 2 seed because the NCAA ranked the team number 5 overall and the tournament is divided into four regions with four one seeds.
The Hurricanes will open their run for the NCAA Championship on Friday afternoon against the Tigers of the University of the Pacific in Austin Texas, and is expected to advance to the final 16 round where they'll then play the winner of the Illinois-Colorado game.

With the Miami Heat defeating the Boston Celtics to hold the second longest winning streak in NBA history with 23 consecutive wins, Heat fans are delirious in the possibility of the team breaking the 1971- 72 LA Lakers record of 33 consecutive wins. The Heat has been impressive defeating every NBA team this year. The streak depicts an impressive team effort, despite the presence of stars LeBron James and Dwyane Wade. Every game during the streak a supporting player shines. In the 105-103 victory over the Celtics in a frenzied atmosphere, Mario Chalmers dropped in a clutch three pointer giving Miami its first lead with 2 minutes and 40 seconds left, and when the Celtics Jeff Green, who scored 43 points, attempted a layup with 07.2 seconds remaining, Shane Battier came up with a huge block shot. However, as giddy as this streak is, the objective of the NBA season is not to set records with consecutive wins. The objective is to win the championships in June. If the Heat doesn't break the Lakers record, but win the NBA championship fans won't be disappointed. But, maybe Miami will do both win over 33 consecutive games and wins the championship.
