Western FC’s hopes of making the playoffs took a blow when they were beaten by fellow playoff contenders Juventus by a score of 2-0 yesterday at the Lauderhill Sports Complex, in Lauderhill.
With just two games remaining in their regular season, Western will now have to depend on others for their hopes of making the playoffs, as they now find themselves outside the top six. Meanwhile, with the win Juventus moves into fifth place with three games remaining on their schedule almost assuring themselves of a play off birth. It was Shane Crawford and Ray Graham who provided the setback for Western as they scored for the victors. In the other game of the double-header the struggling Thunder Bolts registered a convincing 5-0 victory over Palm Beach Pumas as they seek improve their presence in the standings. Teams currently holding down a playoff spots are Elite FC, FC Internaxionale and early pace setters Haiti All-Stars, each with 26 points, Blazers FC and Juventus FC- both with 23 and BC United clinging to the sixth spot with 21 points. The action continues on Friday May 21, with Caribe United taking on Eagles FC at 8:00pm and on Saturday Elite FC go up against FC Internaxionale in a 6:15pm curtain raiser for Universitaro and Blazers FC who plays at 8:15pm. All games will be played at the Lauderhill Sports Complex.
