South Florida Pumas became the latest victim as defending CASA Super League Champions continue their winning ways in their 2010 league campaign, at the Lauderhill Sports Complex, on Wednesday. Pumas took the lead early when Patrick Stewart converted on a penalty, arousing the champions who shifted gears, moving the ball more quickly and getting behind the Pumas defense as they tried for the equalizer. They came close on several occasions only for the Pumas keeper to foil their effort. The equalizer came when forward Adrian Brown ran pass the Pumas defenders and slotted the ball pass the keeper for a 1-1 half time score line. In the second half, Unity kept on pressing and they went ahead when Brown scored again, as Pumas squandered their scoring opportunities. Unity would add to their scoring tally when Romaro Francis and Lamar Mitchell netted to secure a 4-1 victory. In Wednesday’s other game newcomers Elite FC got their first win when they defeated the struggling Western FC 3-0. Jean Peguero, the former Bromby FC (Sweden) striker, scored 2 goals in his league debut, along with another from Andres Lozano to send the winless Western FC to their second straight 3-0 defeat. In what was the feature game of the night on Saturday, FC Internaxionale going up against Thunderbolts, FC Internaxionale came away with all three points. Goals from Mark Williams in the 55th minute and Tristian Thompson in the 66th minute sealed a well-earned 2-1 victory. Thunderbolts tried to mount a comeback when Johnny Ramos pulled a goal back in the 73rd minute sensing they could at least earn a draw, but FC Internaxionale defense stood their ground and were able to hold on for victory.
In the first game of the double-header, Juventus took an early lead through Ray Graham and never looked back as they went on to win convincingly by a score of 4 goals to 1. Steve Daly scored a double and Christopher Willington netted for the victors while Travis Brown scored for Carib United.
