South Florida will get the first look at Marlon Samuels in International cricket as the embattled batsman makes his return from is two year International Cricket Council (ICC) ban from first class cricket.

Samuels will be part of a 13 man squad making the trek from Jamaica to take part in the Pearls Cup cricket festival scheduled for the Broward Regional Park in Lauderhill, this weekend.

He was banned by the ICC, following allegations that he had insalubrious contact with a bookmaker, a charge he denies. Tamar Lambert will lead the Jamaican team who will play a 50-over game on Friday as well as Twenty/20 games on Saturday and Sunday.

One person notably absent from this weekend festivities for Jamaica will be all-rounder David Bernard who was not included as his visa request was turned down by the United States Embassy, according to Jamaica’s head coach Junior Bennett.

The squad comprise of Lambert (captain), Danza Hyatt, Samuels, Donovan Pagon, Wavell Hinds, Dean Morgan, Carlton Baugh, Nkrumah Bonner, Bevon Brown, Andrew Richardson, Shawn Findlay, Krishmar Santokie and Gavin Wallace

President of the Jamaica Cricket Association Paul Campbell was quoted in a release as saying: "We are committed to assist USACA to develop, expand the popularity and increase exposure of the game in the United States through partnership.

"This will form part and parcel of our broader vision to develop Jamaica's cricket through reciprocal arrangements with ICC Associate and Full Member Bodies."
