USA Under-19 representative, Steven Taylor thrilled the large and enthusiastic crowd on Saturday in the 9th round of the Maq T-20 cricket tournament. Taylor smashed 88 with ten fours and four sixes in one of the most dominant innings ever played at the Lauderhill Sports Park. Taylor, opening the innings after Jamaica won the toss, was in superb form and produced an innings that encompassed both defense and offense. A stunning six hit out of the park onto Oakland Park Blvd was the buzz of the night.

Taylor and his fellow Jamaican players were excited to be on field after Jamaica’s first two games were abandoned due to the inclement South Florida weather.Jamaica was eventually dismissed for 166 in 18.5 overs as along with Taylor’s spectacular innings, Richardo Wilson made 13 runs and Neville Dawkins contributed 10. Bowling for the World XI, Mateen Addul grabbed three wickets for 19 runs, while Venkat Raghav and Hussain Mohammed each took two wickets for 18 and 32 runs, respectively.

Batting second, World XI reached 113 in 15.2 overs with Khurram Shaukat hitting 25 with three sixes and one four and Neil Mungal scoring 22 with four fours.

Bowling for the defending champions Jamaica, Adrian Gordon took three wickets for 26 runs and Dawkins two wickets for 23 runs.
