sudanˍpresident.jpgSudan's president is crying foul in against an international court’s war crimes charges saying the tribunal and UN and aid agencies are involved in a new type of colonialism designed to destabilize his nation.

A resolute and defiant President Omar al-Bashir pranced with a cane in front of thousands of supporters, as the 10 humanitarian agencies the Sudanese president ordered to leave Darfur because of the arrest warrants issued, started moving out.

Calling the agencies the UN and the courts “tools of the new colonialism” al-Bashir said “We in Sudan have always been a target of the UN and these organizations because we have said, ‘No’. We said the resources of Sudan should go to the people of Sudan.”

But UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, sees the removal of the agencies as a “a serious setback to lifesaving operations in Darfur”.

The arrest warrant marks the International Criminal Court's (ICC) first against a sitting head of state. The president has rejected the charges and declared he and his government will not cooperate with the court.
