obamaairforceone.jpgAs Florida struggles through the recession, a visit from the president on Monday may have been encouraging, especially to Democrats who intend to run in 2010.

The president hit three of the state’s largest media markets, Jacksonville, Miami and Arcadia where he accentuated the positives. He met with the troops in Jacksonville, where he refuted statements from the Republican Party that he was ‘dithering’ on Afghanistan. On his stop in Arcadia, he announced $3.4 billion in grants to help build a ‘smart’ electric grid to reduce utility bills, blackouts etc. And, in Miami, the president attended fundraisers to generate support for Democratic candidates for the 2010 mid-term general elections.
