The City of Miramar wants to get your teen money sharp at the upcoming "Mad City Money" simulation, on June 20, from 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Miramar Multi Service complex. This unique event will transported teens into the future, where they must manage the expenses of managing families, careers, and bills. Participants will move from station to station, where they must purchase necessities such as housing, transportation, food and clothing. The simulation also includes a mall for "wants," which features a pushy car salesperson, a commission-based realtor and the "Fickle Finger of Fate," which will throw typical financial challenges for participants to manage. Mad City Money is a free event, where snacks and refreshments will also be included. There will also be a drawing of special prizes, including a brand new iPod. Spaces however are limited. To resister for the event, call Maria Jose Bustamante before July 15 at 954-889-2722 or email [email protected]
