Miami-Dade announces business mission to Haiti PDF Print E-mail

Miami-Dade-County-Small-Business-ResourceMiami-Dade County's Economic Development and International Trade (EDIT) Unit, has announced the launch of the upcoming 2012 Miami-Dade County Business Development Mission to Haiti.

On this unique exploratory mission, businesses operating in Miami-Dade County are invited to join the county's business mission to Haiti, scheduled for October 21 to 24. The mission seeks to explore and utilize collaborations between local business and operations in Haiti, particularly among the textile, construction, IT, pharmaceutical, and leisure and hospitality industries.

The U.S. is Haiti's number one trading partner and accounts for more than seventy percent of Haiti's imports. Haiti is Miami-Dade County's 25th trading partner with total bilateral trade of $1.2 billion in 2011. According to the statement released from EDIT, financial incentives are available for investment opportunities in certain sectors.

The (EDIT) Unit is part of the Business Affairs Division of Miami- Dade County's Department of Regulatory and Economic Resources, which seeks to enable local economic development and to promote Miami-Dade County as a global gateway.
