This will be the first seasonal finale for the new Little Haiti Chapter, which was launched in February this year. The Little Haiti Chapter program, modeled after the Venezuelan "El Sistema," provides classical musical instruction, free of charge, every week to registered students ages four to 18 at the Toussaint L'Ouverture Elementary School in Little Haiti. Together with the Doral Chapter, the Miami Music Project Orchestral Academy now serves close to 300 children. Founded in 2008 by world-renowned conductor James Judd, the Miami Music Project seeks to enrich the lives of Miami's children through the study of classicial music, believing that the discipline and dedication needed in musical study can empower children and transform communities.
