- New Facility Will Begin Taking Clients December 6
Five years after Hurricane Wilma destroyed Broward County's Edgar P. Mills Multi-Purpose Center in 2005, a long-awaited new facility has emerged at the original site, located at 900 N.W. 31 Ave., Fort Lauderdale, and will welcome its first clients beginning Monday, December 6.
The surrounding community welcomes the rebirth of this center, which is vital to the residents in the area. The original Edgar P. Mills Multi-Purpose Center was known as one of the most effective one-stop sources of health and social services in Broward County.
The new center will house the following agencies: Broward County Addiction Recovery Center
Assessment and Outpatient units; Central Family Success Center; Community Action Agency; Family Success Administration; Housing Options; Elderly and Veterans Services representatives; Broward County Health Department, Women, Infants & Children, Physician & Dental Services and Pharmacy; as well as a comprehensive array of community stakeholders who will occupy what is commonly referred to as "provider row."
