The Politicians will play at the Miramar Cultural Center on Saturday, April 28 at 8 p.m. and at the Dania Jai-Alai in Dania Beach on Saturday, April 29 at 7 p.m. The popular Jamaican play, written by Paul Beale and directed by Bunny Allen, explores the often secret and humorous process of political campaigning in Jamaica as Delcita and Shebada vie to become a representative of fictional district of Half Pen. Actor Junior Williams plays Ras Iman-I, a fire burning, flag waving contender for the top position, while actress Stacy-Ann Brissett plays the inept and incumbent Half Pen representative Monica Brown in this mad, hilarious campaign. This hit Jamaica political satire also stars Garfield Reid as shady politician Gary, Abigail Grant as Delcita's determined campaign manager Sadie, and Michael "String Bean" Nicholson as Shebada's advising pastor. Come let these top stars win your vote! Tickets for this exciting and hilarious show are available from select Caribbean outlets and the Miramar Cultural Center Box Office. For tickets, program information, previews and directions to venues, visit the Sunshine Theater Company website at www.sunshinetheatrecompany.com, or call the Sunshine hotline at 786-237-5493. Popular theater duo Andrea "Delcita" Wright and Keith "Shebada" Ramsay have been storming the Jamaican theater scene since joining forces in the 2008 production Di Driver. The two stars have also collaborated in the 2010 hit play, Ova Mi Dead Body.
