Two dancehall artistes are in hospital nursing gunshot wounds in separate incidences in Jamaica. Oneil Edwards from the group Voicemail was robbed and shot multiple times on Monday, and a day later Ewart Brown, popularly known as Mad Cobra, was shot in the shoulder.

According to reports Oneil was shot at his Duhaney Park home in St. Andrew and found lying in a pool of blood and is undergoing treatment at Kingston Public Hospital.  A day later, a vigil led by fellow artistes, was kept in Half-Way-Tree square in St. Andrew protesting the violence.

Oneil is reportedly still in critical condition.

Mad Cobra was allegedly shot in the chest in St. Catherine and is in the Spanish Town Hospital.

Cobra, who had not been as active in the circuit, recently had an extensive radio interview in which he spoke about his future and his intention to re-emerge in the industry.

Cobra is said to be in stable condition.
