The festival which is set for Monday, May 27 at The Meyer Amphitheater in Downtown West Palm Beach from 2 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. promises not to disappoint as they celebrate 10 years of fun, food, family and great entertainment. This amazing festival has been said to be one of the biggest and best Caribbean festival in the U.S. This is a family friendly event and parents are encouraged to bring their little ones along to enjoy the happenings as the venue capacity has doubled.

For the fourth year the event has 411 PAIN as its title sponsor

Artistes who will keep the crowd entertained all day include internationally acclaimed, Grammy-nominated singer, songwriter and producer, Freddie McGregor; reggae legend Frankie Paul, also hit maker Jamaican dancehall, ragga, and reggae singer, Half Pint; emerging dancehall performer, Konshens; the big band reggae sound of The Resolvers; Rootz Underground with their electric yet organic, gritty and soulful sound; and the Fab 5 band.
On the wheels of steel will be world renowned sound systems including Jamaican sound system based in Miami - Black Chiney Sound, and the world immortal Stone Love Sound System.

UnifestLogo2011On Sunday, May 19 the grounds of the beautiful, Vincent Torres Park will come to life as the 19th Annual Caribbean Multi-cultural Celebration known as Unifest, is set to kick off at 11 a.m. and run until 11 p.m.

Unifest is recognized as the longest running "multi-cultural event" in Lauderdale Lakes and Broward County. This event has seen 18 successful stagings and has attracted more than 8,000 people annually and is expected to attract more than 10,000 people this year. Unifest is a celebration of the diverse yet rich culture of the Caribbean and is creatively designed to unify people and show off their unique cultures.

The event is broken down into various fun-filled activities to include a cultural display of arts and crafts, popular Caribbean sports and past time such as netball, soccer and a domino tournament, business expo and health fair. The "Cultural Corner" this year will emphasize the commemoration of 'Haitian Flag Day', an exciting and colorful carnival costume parade. There will also be "Flavors of the Caribbean" which is an array of various types of food from across the Caribbean, where popular restaurateurs from the Florida area will get the chance to showcase some of their favorite Caribbean dishes. This is a family friendly event so patrons are encouraged to bring the kids where they will be entertained in a special "Kiddie Village."

Palm Beach Carnival moves to Boca Raton PDF Print E-mail

palm beach carnivalCalling all island massive! The Caribbean Heritage Foundation and PBMOI present the 6th annual Palm Beach Carnival on Saturday, June 15 at the Sunset Cove Amphitheater in Boca Raton.
"This year is anticipated to be the best one yet," said marketing director of the Palm Beach Carnival, Stevens Ewald. "We have something for everyone and guarantee a good time."
To epitomize the West Indian tradition, Palm Beach Carnival accommodates a beautiful embellishment of masquerade bands, steel pan ensembles and some of the most beautiful costumes and arts and crafts. Hosting the stage will be 99 JAMZ's very own Papa Keith along with Wassi out of New York. This is one of Palm Beach County's most anticipated, family oriented music and arts festivals, welcoming all islanders to South Florida.
The 2013 Palm Beach Carnival has an exuberant collection of artistes performing for the live concert segment of the event. Hitting the live stage will be one of Jamaica's top recording artists, Assassin, along with Trinidad and Tobago's very own mega star Blaxx, and Haiti's 2013 Kings of Carnival, Djakout #1. Also performing will be the world famous Leon Coldero with Code 868, Eddie Charles formerly of the legendary band Traffik and many more artistes to be announced.
It is all hosted by Papa Keith of 99 JAMZ with music by King Waggy T, House Arrest and some of South Florida's best. Gates open at 1 p.m. with a street parade and steel pan ensemble to start, followed by live performances beginning at 6 p.m. There will also be a kid zone for children 12 and under who are admitted free, complete with bounce houses, face painting and snow cones. Local vendors will be on site selling everything you love from traditional Caribbean dishes to arts and crafts and music throughout the event.
"Palm Beach Carnival is a chance for all island massive and carnival lovers to enjoy themselves," said community liaison for the event, Fabian Mentioff. "This year will be the ultimate experience."
