Caribbean entertainment TV network TEMPO has initiated a pro-social campaign dubbed ONE LOVE, which it says seeks to engage, educate and empower the community in tackling regional issues. Currently airing on TEMPO, the campaign seeks to openly and for the first time truly explore what the legendary Bob Marley wished to express by advocating a philosophy of One Love. The ONE LOVE campaign features multiple public service announcements (PSAs), which will broadcast on TEMPO and online at gottempo.com. Top Caribbean artistes, including Beenie Man, Baby Cham, Bunji Garlin, Allison Hinds, Ricky Jai, David Kirton, Machel Montano, Rupee, Mr Vegas and others have already lent their perspective to the campaign. The network further stated that additional on-air, online, wireless, and grassroots initiatives will be rolled out throughout the year. ************** Well-known roots play producer Ralph Holness, has returned to the Jamaican theatre scene after a 24 months hiatus with a fast moving production, Heart Attack. Set in a Kingston tenement yard, Heart Attack reveals the tragedies of infidelity in an urban family setting. A tenant in the yard is having a sexual relationship with her friend's husband. 'As the plot deepens, the daughter discovers that she was deceived by her friend and her mother was not in fact in any relationship with her husband. Ralph Holness, who has produced numerous plays starting in the mid 1970s, has been off the theatre scene for over two years due to ill health. The play which opens at the Ward Theatre in downtown Kingston on Sunday June 11 is very fast spirited and promises to be jam-packed with laughter. ************** Big buzz surrounding 50 Cent for Sumfest! Fans attending this year's staging of the annual SUMFEST will once again are afforded the opportunity to enjoy the performance of 50 Cents, the biggest selling hip- hop artist, who is billed to strut his stuff on Friday night's show dubbed Ignition. According to Carlo Redwood, Group Marketing Manager at Red Stripe, they chose to include the hip hop star out of their intent establishing the show as the world's best. Ignition also packs other local dancehall and international hip hop luminaries the likes of explosive dancehall star Sizzla, hip hop duo Mobb Deep, Lloyd Banks, Lady Saw, Vegas and Germany's international reggae sensation Gentleman. There has been a buzz on the streets of Jamaica for a while then after much anticipation, promoters of the event; Summerfest Productions confirmed that the hip hop icon would headline the festival's Ignition segment on July 21 in Montego Bay. Fans can expect, 50 Cent to roll out all his huge hits, including the hypnotic In Da Club, Many Men, P.I.M.P, Candy Shop, Wanksta, 21 Questions, What Up Gangsta?, and his latest burners, Best Friends, the duet with Olivia and Outta Control recorded with Mobb Deep.
