HIP HOP power couple Russell Simmons and Kimora Lee Simmons, Baby Phat’s CEO, have separated after seven years of marriage!  "Kimora and I will remain committed parents and caring friends with great love and admiration for each other," Simmons, 48, said in a statement issued by his agent. Apparently they had been separated for some time, although they had continued living under the same roof.  Simmons, the founder of Def Jam Records, which produced many of the top names in hip hop, married Kimora Lee in 1998 after meeting her when she was modeling at New York Fashion Week. Considered a hip-hop pioneer, he started Def Jam with Rick Rubin in Rubin's dorm room at New York University in 1984. Def Jam was the original home to some of the first mainstream rap stars: Run-DMC, the Beastie Boys and Public Enemy.

We've got a Miss Universe, Miss World, Miss Global beauty contest, it's time for a Mr. Jamaica counterpart. So what are we waiting for? Announcing the 2006 Mr. Jamaica Galaxy Contest!  It won't be called a beauty contest, although to the Greeks the male physique was admired for its beauty. No, it’s a combination of the good looks of Denzel Washington, the personality of Bill Cosby, and a body that will draw "oohs" and "aahs" from the ladies in the audience. Sponsors who attempt to spark controversy with names that could be misconstrued like Front-End Lifter, Cock Soup, Heavy Duty Tools, Big Willy, or even AB Dick (a legitimate office equipment brand) will not be approached. So, ladies I can’t wait for this one!!
