ST JOHN'S, Antigua – Self proclaimed King of the Dancehall Beenie Man, was held briefly by Antiguan authorities following his performance at the opposition’s political rally.
The artist complained during his Saturday night performance that Antiguan immigration authorities questioned him when he was entering the country. He was again stopped for questioning before being allowed to board his flight to return home to Jamaica.
Acting Police Commissioner Thomas Bennett told reporters that Beenie Man, whose real name is Anthony Moses Davis, was questioned "regarding his performance" then released without charges. He said he could not provide further details.
