PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad – Keyeno Thomas and Cornell Glen struck second-half goals to propel Trinidad and Tobago to a 2-0 win over reigning Digicel Caribbean champions Haiti 2-0 in their friendly football international on Wednesday .

Thomas and Glen struck headed goals eight minutes apart to sink the Haitians, who were late stand-in opponents.

Haiti, the Caribbean Football Union (CFU) 2007 Team of the Year, were named last weekend as replacement for Panama, the original opponents.

T&T enjoyed the return of several stalwarts from their historic 2006 World Cup Finals, including Glen, Avery John, and Chris Birchall, who set up both goals on Wednesday night.

After a fairly moderate first-half, the T&T Soca Warriors stepped up their game after the break and went ahead in the 62nd minute when Thomas headed in a left-sided free-kick from Birchall.

Eight minutes later, Glen made it 2-0 when he scored when he connected with a header from another left-sided free-kick from Birchall as the home side toppled the Haitians, who had beaten them 2-1 in the Digicel Cup final in January last year.

Both teams used the game as warm-up for the semi-final round of CONCACAF World Cup qualifying starting on August 20.

T&T will start their Group A campaign against Cuba in Havana and Haiti begin their series in Group C at home against Suriname.
