With the successful conclusion of the historic MAQ T20 International Cricket Tournament '08, Cricket Council USA now turns its attention to the FREEDOM T20 Cricket Tournament ‘08 which will be held at the Broward Regional Park, in Lauderhill on July 4th.
There will be four teams participating in the one day tournament which will take the form of 20-20 play: US Lions, US Giants, US Bears and US Sharks will contest the inaugural event.
"We look forward to highlighting the best US Cricketers from Connecticut, Central Florida and South Florida in this Tournament" stated Mahammad "MAQ" Qureshi, Chairman & CEO of Cricket Council USA. "Indeed the goal of CCUSA is to promote 20/20 Cricket in the United States. Showcasing the best national Cricketers in Tournaments such as the FREEDOM T20 Cricket Tournament will help accomplish our goal" added MAQ.
To make this July 4th a memorable one for South Florida Cricket Fans, CCUSA is teaming up with the City of Lauderhill to bring not only exciting, fast paced 20/20 Cricket action but also music, provided by DJ Jabbow, and to top off the night, a Spectacular July 4th Fireworks Display by Dynamic Effects and Fireworks.
The Cricket action begins at 9:15 AM. There will be four Matches played with the Championship Match slated to begin at 5:30 PM. Musical entertainment will begin at 5:00 PM and the Fireworks Display will take place at 9:15 PM.
