If you have skin that is oily in some places and dry or normal in others, you have been blessed (or cursed) with Combination Skin. The oily skin is usually concentrated the T-zone – that is across the forehead, down the nose and chin.

Since the oily areas are usually prone to blackheads and pimples, combination skin needs special attention, so the dry or normal parts are cared for and the oily sections kept clean to prevent breakouts.

  1. Here are some things you can do to care for your combination skin:
  2. Drink plenty of water. This is definitely good for hydrating your skin, which can become dehydrated due to Air Conditioning and other environmental factors. Avoid soaps. Use a mild cleanser to wash face twice a day to gently remove dirt, impurities and make-up from your face.
  3. Use a moisturizer formulated for combination skin, or just moisturize dry areas.
  4. Choose products that normalize skin, for example those that have alpha hydroxy acids and Vitamin C. These usually have anti inflammatory properties and help to exfoliate skin.
  5. Use a shine control product or oil free makeup on the T-zone.
  6. Don’t forget sunscreen! Make sure it has at least SPF 15.
