The Caribbean has long been the destination of choice for many northern vacationers. This has not changed. Even though there are challenges in the industries, Caribbean markets are working assiduously to improve on their products and to cater to the new and increasing demands of vacationers.

Here are some of what the Caribbean has to offer:

  • bahamas_beach_1.jpgBeautiful white, black and pink sand beaches – one of the best ways to vacation is to sunbathe and relax on a beautiful beach... hear the waves lap against the sand. You can find beautiful beaches on the many islands of the Bahamas, the north coast of Jamaica and any other Caribbean nation.
  • Rich history and diverse culture – As many as the Caribbean islands are, the history is as rich and the culture, diverse. Each country has its own rich history dating from the day of the Arawaks and Caribs, to the Spanish, English, Portuguese and Africans. From the Carnival of Trinidad & Tobago and the Crop over of Barbados, to the kompas music of Haiti to Junkanoo of Bahamas, or the Reggae music and dancing of Jamaica – tourists can engage!
  • Exquisite cuisine – Think mouthwatering jerk chicken, conch salad, pelau and so many other dishes will have the taste buds dancing.
  • Myriad eco-tourism opportunities – There are some of us who prefer to go horseback riding, hike the mountains or trails, visit wildlife preservation areas, or appreciate the diverse flora and fauna. Explore the rainforests of Guyana and Belize. But take the Blue Mountain pledge: “Take only pictures; leave only footprints; kill only time.”
  • Underwater Adventures & water sports – with excellent scuba diving and snorkeling destinations, including reefs, shipwrecks and exotic sea creatures, tourists who crave going underwater will have an excellent time in the Caribbean!
  • Beautiful weather, beautiful people – The weather is almost as warm and inviting as the people of the Caribbean, who represent diverse races and cultures, sometimes coming together in one excellent blend.
