The Age
Management Medicine Group (AMMG), a medical conference management organization
presenting CME-accredited events, announced that recognized professors from the
University of Miami’s Miller School of Medicine will release results from phase
one of a three-phase retrospective study on hormones at the November 2007 Age
Management Medicine Conference and Exposition. The four-day conference runs
from November 8-11 at the Red Rock Resort & Spa in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Researchers
from the University
of Miami - Miller School
of Medicine partnered with the Cenegenics Education and Research Foundation
(CERF) to conduct the IRB-approved retrospective review study. Two respected
professors from the university, Enrique Ginzburg, MD, FACS, and Nancy Klimas,
MD, will present phase one of the study, entitled "Testosterone and Growth
Hormone Normalization: A Retrospective Study of Health Outcomes," at the
November conference.
"The
findings of phase one were extremely interesting," Dr. Ginzburg said.
Extensively published, Dr. Ginzburg is a professor of surgery at the University of Miami
- Miller School of Medicine’s Divisions of Trauma and Surgical Critical Care,
medical director at the International
Health Center,
co-director at the Neuroscience Intensive Care, in addition to holding several
secondary appointments.
Dr. Nancy
Klimas – a recognized leader, championing research in chronic fatigue syndrome
– is professor of medicine, psychology, microbiology and immunology at the University of Miami - Miller School of Medicine and
the Miami VA Medical Center.
During
their presentation, Drs. Ginzburg and Klimas will discuss research results of
an effective program of hormone modulation for men and women, low-glycemic
nutrition and exercise instruction on select outcomes indicative of disease
risk and the subjective impression of quality of life in a private practice.
The
November 2007 Age Management Medicine Conference and Exposition offers 28 AMA
PRA Category 1 CME Credits. Each clinically focused session is designed to
provide physicians and healthcare professionals the latest research, protocols
and techniques in age management medicine, which can immediately be
incorporated into their practice.
Committee
chairperson and medical editor of the AMMG e-journal, Age Management Medicine,
Dr. Joseph McWherter said, "In and of itself, the conference is a training
course. Our distinguished panel of speakers provides the clinical tools needed
to develop the key elements of healthy living – from diet and nutrition,
understanding biomarkers of aging, sexual dysfunction, chemical sensitivities
and toxins, hormonal balancing, basic age management interventions and best
practices."
In addition
to releasing findings from the IRB-approved study, other conference highlights
include Dr. Jennifer Berman, recognized authority in female urology and female
sexual medicine, lecturing on emerging treatment strategies for female sexual
function; Dr. Joseph McWherter examining the controversial findings and
reversal on the Women?s Health Initiative study; Dr. Israel Yoles addressing
the unsolved debate on treating osteopenic women; and Cenegenics – Dr. Jeffry Life presenting a series of
problematic cases, allowing attendees to engage in a frank discussion.
Future
conferences will reveal the findings from phase two and three of the
IRB-approved retrospective review study, conducted by Drs. Enrique Ginzburg,
Nancy Klimas and CERF.
