Lutan Fyah says there is no need to apologize!!

Last week at the REGGAE IN THE VALLEY Concert, in St Elizabeth, Jamaica, Lutan said, “big up to Bounty Killa because he made nuff yout’ come inna di business”. This upset the Rastafarian artistes on the bill, such as Luciano, Anthony B and Capleton, who and they are seeking an apology from him. The entertainers left the venue in anger, while Lutan refused to apologize. Fyah explained that he never meant to upset the Rasta community because he is a Rasta also, it was meant for the entertainers in the music business. Fyah said some Rasta artistes said he disrespected them.

Lutan thinks the Rastas that he angered should level with him and sort the situation out, since he meant no disrespect and was speaking the truth. When Capleton was questioned regarding the statement, he said there should be no negative business with Rastas, so he expects it to be sorted out soon. Come on; don’t tell me not even our cultural icons can get along?

Rapper Jay-Z says it’s all lies!

It’s been rumored that for some time now rapper Jay-Z has fathered a child with Trinidadian, Shenelle Scott, however, Jay-Z said that this is not true. It was also rumored that he paid Shenelle one million dollars to keep his name off the birth certificate, and to keep his name out of the public of being the father. Jay-Z says that he met Shenelle on the set of his video “Big Pimpin” in 1998, but never had a relationship with her and the tabloids printed a photo of him and Shenelle holding a baby boy, assuming it’s his baby. Jay-Z is denying that he had a child with this model and cried shame on the tabloids for exploiting a baby for publicity purposes. Seems he like the Caribbean girls since he’s also been linked to Bajan singing sensation Rihanna. Jay-Z, have you really been faithful to Beyonce? Inquiring minds want to know?

A bald Halle Berry?

Oscar winning actress, Halle Berry, age 40 will shave her head. No it’s not another Britney stunt. The sexy Hollywood star is going bald for her new movie “Nappily Ever After”. Yes, the actress, whose roles include secret agent Jinx in the James Bond flick "Die another Day," is shaving it like actresses Demi Moore and Natalie Portman for their roles in “G.I. Jane” and “V for Vendetta” respectively. "Nappily Ever After" is a romantic comedy in which Halle plays a woman whose hair is falling out, so she decides to shave it all. Afterwards, she must deal with people's perceptions of who she is and how her hair defined her. According to Berry, the character she plays "is forced to look at what beauty is, and it comes from inside." She had a choice of wearing a bald cap for the movie but decided to really shave her head instead. She should still be gorgeous, as she doesn’t have a problem with beauty. I can’t wait to check this movie.

Bob Marley makes his debut on American Idol?

Robert Nesta Marley’s popular song “One Love” is now associated with Ford’s Hybrid cars in a commercial which starred American Idol’s nine finalists. The commercial was aired on American Idol showing a muddy Ford vehicle in an “eco” friendly carwash, when the nine idols washed the car while lip synching Bob’s “One Love” and dancing to the reggae rhythms. The song is from Bob Marley & the Wailers album “Exodus” and was also used for the “One Love Peace Concert” in 1978. The song is also used for the Jamaica Tourist Board ads. The words, “one love” have even become a salutation among all and it is great to see all the world has caught on to its meaning and value. Big up Bob!! Still hitting it big from beyond the grave.
