Green Card holders who wish to become naturalized are warned to prepare for a tougher citizenship test. According to Citizenship and Naturalization officials, volunteers are trying out the new test this winter in preparation for the 2008 release. Questions will focus on American Democracy, and will include facts on the Bill of Rights and the meaning of Democracy. The basic reading and writing skills will be changed to include civic vocabulary and, to pass, applicants must answer six of the 10 questions correctly. Eligibility for naturalization requires the ability to read, write and speak basic English as well as have basic knowledge of US history and government.
