Put your best face forward |

You face is
usually the first thing people see when they look at you… and unless you wear
some garb that covers it… there’s no way to change that… so, why not spend some
time and some money to make sure your face is clean and radiant?
The first
step to beautiful face is cleansing. But first get a cleanser… not soap… that
is ideal for your skin type… whether it’s combination to oily or normal to dry
and then there is the sensitive skin type as well.
It’s ideal
to cleanse in the morning and before bed at nights.
Cleansing
will remove old make up, and the grime accumulated throughout the day. You will
want to use an oil-free eye-cleansing solution to remove eye make-up… I find
that Vaseline or baby oil leaves that oily residue that we really don’t need. So
with a cotton ball remove eye make-up – especially the hard to remove mascara.
Pour face
cleansing cream or gel into your palm and apply generously to entire face with
fingertips, avoiding eyes of course. Don’t forget the neck (that always gives
away your age) and massage it over face with an upward and outward movement.
You can
remove with a wet cotton ball or cleansing cloth or just rinse with warm water
and follow up with cold to close pores.
Using a
toner will remove any residual dirt, make-up and will also balance the Ph of
the skin. Be sure to use toner in the crevices around the nose and chin.
In the
morning, be sure to apply a sunscreen formula (which should be a part of your
cleansing products) and then apply moisturizer. This helps to prevent the drying out of the
face, which is always exposed to the elements. Your moisturizer forms a film
over your skin and helps in containing the natural moisture of the skin.
Massage the moisturizer into skin all over the face and neck.
In the
morning, follow up with your make-up. At nights just enjoy the clean fresh
feeling before bed!!!

Monthly breast self-exams? |
|
|

You are
probably thinking, "How should I know?"...but shouldn't you? According to the Breast Cancer Research
Foundation, one in seven women in the US
will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime, and every 13 minutes a
woman in the US
dies from breast cancer. The American
Cancer Society states that only 14% of women perform a monthly breast self-exam
(BSE), while you'll most likely find it's around 4% of women who actually
perform consistent monthly BSEs if you ask 100 random women in the US. Do you do your monthly breast self exam? Who was the last person that asked you that
question outside of your doctor? Why
don't mothers ask daughters, sisters ask sisters and friends ask friends the
question, "Do you do your monthly breast self exam?"
Globally
cancer foundations recommend a triad approach to breast health including an
annual clinical breast exam, starting at age 20 a monthly breast self exam, and
starting at 40 an annual mammogram. By
performing a monthly breast self exam, you will know what is normal for your
breast tissue better than anyone else.
In addition, you are taking a preventative measure, which is what you
believe in, right? And for the men
reading this, men can get breast cancer too.
We all know
that early detection is the key to saving lives which is most important. What about the reduction in mastectomy,
chemotherapy and other treatments?
Breast cancer has the best prognosis and less invasive treatments the
earlier it's detected. Breast cancer
starts smaller then .25 CM, about the size of a grain of barley! Sooner and smaller is always better than
later and larger. It takes 6 to 10 years
to grow to 1 CM, about the size of an M&M, but once at 1 CM it only takes 1
to 3 years to grow to 3 or 4 CM, about the size of a golf ball! At just 1 CM the tumor begins to spread to
other areas of the body. If you found
breast cancer at .25 CM your survival rate would be 99%! Do you think you could detect something the
size of a grain of barley?
When you do
a breast self exam you could use the Breast Chek Kit, which acts like a
magnifying glass for your fingertips.
The Breast Chek Kit is a patented FDA cleared medical device that is
recommended by over 99% of medical doctors surveyed. It's inexpensive, durable, washable, and
reusable for both home and clinical use.
The Breast Chek Kit is just two very thin layers of polyurethane filled
with a non-toxic, environmentally safe gel.
The fingers now glide over the skin eliminating friction, and enabling
you or your doctor to do a better breast exam.
The goal of the company is the get one into the hands of every woman
around the world to help lower the death rates of breast cancer.
For more
information about the product and/or business, or to arrange an educational
in-service about the importance of early detection of breast cancer, please

Maintain a healthy prostate! |

Approaching
your 50’s? Now may be a good time to start having annual prostate exams.
Prostate Cancer is the most frequently diagnosed cancer in men. More than
218,000 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer this year alone, and more
than 27,000 will die.
With
statistics like those, one cannot be too careful and it’s a great time think
about the ways men can keep their prostates healthy and be proactive about
cancer prevention. "Prostate cancer and problems urinating caused by
benign prostatic enlargement affect the vast majority of men as they age,"
said Dr. Christopher Saigal, an assistant professor of urology and a researcher
at UCLA's Jonsson
Cancer Center.
"It makes sense to do what you can to avoid a foreseeable problem with
your health".
