When songbird Whitney Houston fell out of the music business, it came
as a blow to her fans the world over. But fans may be in for a treat if
her new song with Akon Like I Never Left, is a taste of what her new
album will be bringing.
The vocal powerhouse has more work to do to get her voice back to where
it was, but this is encouraging news to the fans who have been waiting
to hear her voice again.
While the details of her upcoming album are sketchy and we’re not sure
whether the song, which was leaked, would be the first single, it is
certainly a good progress for her extended hiatus.

‘Mr. Boombastic’ himself, Shaggy, is sitting pretty at the top of the charts in Europe with his single Feel The Rush, which was picked by UEFA organizers to be the official theme song for the European Football Championship, commonly referred to as Euro 2008.
On his European Intoxication album tour this summer, UEFA organizers tapped into Shaggy's star power to entertain the VIPs at the opening game and the Euro 2008 Championship match. The extra energy behind the song, and its memorable hook and catchy beats easily pushed the track and its dance remix into top 10 charts across Europe, with the single even reaching #1 on the German Pop Chart.
Shaggy, who last weekend headlined the Splash Festival in Germany, said "The fans are embracing the track everywhere we go, and it's exciting to see it at number one in Germany. It was an honor to have it be the theme song for Euro 2008 - I felt the rush."
Shaggy is also currently enjoying the a high place on the Billboard Latin Rhythm Airplay chart for a collaboration with R&B artist Qwote, titled Don't Wanna Fight. His album Intoxication (Big Yard/VP) was released back in November and has maintained a strong presence on the Billboard Top Reggae Albums chart, peaking at #1.

Thursday, 17 July 2008 |
With Shurwayne Winchester, there's just never a dull moment as his tracks keep coming hot off the press. This Tuesday, the Groovy Monarch of T&T releases yet another hit. Coming out of the Worrell Brothers production company, based in Barbados, Winchester will offer up, Rough Wine, to the Crop Over masses. Described as one of those energy filled, sweet songs, Minim, a member of the Worrell Brothers camp assures that this new release will do exceptionally well.
Two weeks ago production of the track got underway and handing it over to Shurwayne for vocal execution was never a question for the Barbados posse as, according to Minim, Shurwayne's voice was the only one that came to mind.
This second release follows an amazing collaboration between Shurwayne and Maxi Priest, which was aired recently. Seemingly the trend for the local soca visionary, fans of the artiste can certainly look out for new music in the peak of just about every carnival in the region and internationally. Additionally, green card members attached to www.shurwaynewinchester.com will have first dibs at all the new music and SW paraphernalia as he continues on his journey to making soca music, heard, loved and embraced around the world.
