It’s just about five years since the sensational male vocal group Voicemail came on the scene with catchy dance tunes like “Get Crazy”, “Weh Di Time”, “Wacky Dip”, and “Dance Do What You Feel Like”. Since then, all of Jamaica and those of us keeping up with the music back home knew they were on to something.

Their debut album “Hey” made it big nationally and internationally and was really a big hit in Japan. Now set to release their sophomore album “Let’s Go” on April 18, the group is bringing it better than before. The album, the group says, is a more mature one than their debut. “Let’s Go” is an 18 track CD with songs such “Love” and “Clap Off” which are definitely making waves.

Voicemail recently signed a clothing endorsement deal with Prohibit Line of clothing in Japan. It is quite fitting that the group, who is known not only for their voices, but for their trendsetting duds, be the representative of choice for the Japanese.

But this is not the first endorsement deal for the trio; they have been putting their faces and voices behind bmobile when they joined the company of reggae superstars, Bounty Killer, Beenie Man who have also signed endorsement deals with the mobile provider.

The eagerly anticipated 16th annual St. Lucia Jazz festival, that the island's Tourist Board is staging from May 4 to 13, 2007, is getting solid rotation on top television networks BET and BET J this month.

The preview show, now in rotation on BET J's "Island Lime" Saturday format, is co-hosted by St. Lucian television personality Portia Mogal who introduces African American comedian Joe Clair to some of the breathtaking sights and attractions offered by the Eastern Caribbean island nation.

Instead of relaxing at his hotel in front of the television, Mogal convinces Clair to take a personal tour of the island. He enjoys every minute of it.

Lutan Fyah says there is no need to apologize!!

Last week at the REGGAE IN THE VALLEY Concert, in St Elizabeth, Jamaica, Lutan said, “big up to Bounty Killa because he made nuff yout’ come inna di business”. This upset the Rastafarian artistes on the bill, such as Luciano, Anthony B and Capleton, who and they are seeking an apology from him. The entertainers left the venue in anger, while Lutan refused to apologize. Fyah explained that he never meant to upset the Rasta community because he is a Rasta also, it was meant for the entertainers in the music business. Fyah said some Rasta artistes said he disrespected them.

Lutan thinks the Rastas that he angered should level with him and sort the situation out, since he meant no disrespect and was speaking the truth. When Capleton was questioned regarding the statement, he said there should be no negative business with Rastas, so he expects it to be sorted out soon. Come on; don’t tell me not even our cultural icons can get along?
