Sydney FC coach Pierre Littbarski says the money spent on luring Trinidad & Tobago football superstar Dwight Yorke to the A-League club was a good investment. "All the things I was told about Dwight Yorke have turned out to be not true," Littbarski told the Sydney Morning Herald. "The people with their doubts were not right. He's done a lot of things he didn't have to do. It's been interesting to see. He had the chance to just sit in his apartment and pick up the money but he hasn't done it like that." He added: "He's been a proper team member. He's trained hard. He's invited players to his apartment and taken them out to dinner and out on a boat. He's been fantastic. He's been worth every cent." Yorke arrived at the Sydney club with a cloud over his worth, with some pundits questioning the near US $700 000 spent on the former Manchester United star. |
