The Victoria Mutual Group in South Florida continues its celebration of Jamaica's 50th anniversary of independence with the unveiling of the 'VM Win 50' savings promotion. Members can win several amazing prizes, including a new home in a prime location in Jamaica.

The promotion was recently announced at a special wine and cheese mixer for the Jamaican Diaspora, held at the Jerk Machine restaurant in Fort Lauderdale.

Addressing the gathering, Suzette Rochester, manager at the Victoria Mutual Building Society (VMBS) Florida Representative Office, said the "VM Win 50" promotion gives Victoria Mutual savers and investors from both the Building Society and the Wealth Management Strategic Business Units a chance to "hold independence in the palm of their hands" with the opportunity to win the grand prize of a home.

The grand prize homes are located at three picturesque locations in Jamaica. The first prize home is located at The Palms in Richmond, St. Ann. The second prize home is located at the Caymanas Golf and Country Club Estates in St Catherine, and the third prize home is located at the Florence Hall Village in Trelawny.

In addition, members and customers can also win one of 50 exciting prizes each fortnight, including: an iPad 2, a smart phone, an iPod Touch and J$10,000 or U.S. dollar equivalent worth of coupons for electric, grocery or fuel expenses.

Victoria Mutual savers and investors will get 10 chances to win with every deposit of J$50,000, US/CAD$500 and £500 among existing funds, and five additional chances for every $50,000, US/CAD$500 and £500 deposit of new funds in a VMBS account. Members may also earn one additional chance for every year their account has been active.

Rochester stated that the opportunity to win the grand prize of a home emphasized the institution's long-standing tradition of helping Jamaicans realize their home ownership goals. Renowned primarily for its mortgage offerings, Victoria Mutual also reduced its mortgage rates in honor of Jamaica's 50th celebrations. New mortgagors are offered a special interest rate of 9.39 percent per annum on a Jamaican Currency Mortgage and 6.85 percent per annum on a Foreign Currency Mortgage – a move the institution called a "tangible gesture" designed to reward their customers for their loyal support throughout the years.
