Want the whole world to know how special your mother is this Mother's Day? If you are a resident of Miami Gardens, you can nominate your mom for the Miami Gardens "Mother of the Year" award.

This special recognition is sponsored by Miami Gardens Councilwoman for Residential area, Seat two, Lisa C. Davis. The winner of this contest will receive a special Mother Day's gift basket. First runner-up will receive a $100 dinner for two gift card, while second runner-up will receive a special Mother's Day plaque.

To nominate your mom, write in 300 words or less why your mother should be chosen for this award. Mail your entry or drop it off in person at the City of Miami Gardens City Hall, 1515 NW 16th Street, Building 5, Suite A, Miami Gardens, 33169. The deadline for entries is May 1.
